After passing the U.S. medical licensing exams, he joined the Anesthesiology Residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He later transitioned to the Internal Medicine Residency Program at East Tennessee State University. From 1995 to 1998, he completed this residency, excelling and earning the title of "Outstanding Internal Medicine Resident."

In 2000, Dr. Banaji relocated to Forrest City, Arkansas, where he initially worked in private practice at Dr. Kumar's Medical Clinic and as an emergency room physician at Baptist Memorial Hospital (now Forrest City Medical Center). From 2002 to 2004, he provided outpatient and hospital-based care at a clinic affiliated with Baptist Memorial Hospital, serving a diverse population of critically ill, uninsured, and indigent patients.
Establishing Private Practice
In 2005, Dr. Banaji founded Internal Medicine of Forrest City, becoming the senior partner and director. He expanded his services in 2008 by assuming the role of Medical Director at the Earle Family Medical Clinic in Earle, Arkansas, which serves smaller communities with similar healthcare services as those in Forrest City.
